ISM reports on US supply chain salaries
Tempe, Ariz.—The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) has announced the results of its 2007 US salary survey.
The association surveyed supply management professionals in the US during January and February, achieving responses from 1,155 people.
It established rates of pay for the 2006 calendar year. According to the data, those with the title of agent, buyer, senior buyer, planner or purchaser earned an average of US$61,645.
Managers of purchasing/ supply management/ sourcing were paid an average $87,676 in 2006; while directors of the same departments
brought in $124,948.
Vice-presidents of purchasing/supply management/ sourcing earned
$185,343. Topping out the scale were chief purchasing/ supply management/ sourcing officers, who were paid $247,685.
The average of all the salaries combined was $88,380. Women still lag behind men in average rate of pay, at $71,307 and $98,550 respectively.
Bonuses were earned by 61.7 per cent of respondents, with the average bonus pegged at $16,118. b2b
