NEC unveils Vista projectors: Technology allows remote access to desktop

NEC Display Solutions of America Inc. introduced three new projectors in June—all of which are Windows Vista compatible.
The NP1150, NP2150 and NP3150 were designed for larger corporations and higher education and government applications. They’re billed as the first commercially available projectors to use the “connect to a network projector” wizard in Windows Vista. The wizard enables the connection of networked printers, without the use of additional proprietary software.
The remote desktop feature allows users to connect to a networked computer remotely. Users control the desktop by connecting a USB mouse and keyboard to the projector, according to NEC.
The NP1150, NP2150 and NP3150 range in brightness—3,500, 4,000 and 5,000 lumens respectively, providing images that produce well in rooms with highambient lighting conditions. The vertical and horizontal lens shift allow for flexible projector placement, while
a complete line of optional bayonet style lenses enable quick and easy lens changes, NEC reports.
Eco-Mode technology increases lamp life up to 3,000 hours and provides quiet projector operation at 33dB. The projectors will ship late in 2007. os
