LCBO streamlines supplier applications
Toronto—The Liquor Control Board of Ontario has launched a web-based supply chain portal.
Designed to streamline its product review process, the portal allows suppliers and agents in Ontario and around the world to submit new products for review; view LCBO product requirements, and track the approval process online.
This system was under testing last year, and is now fully operational. Called the new item submission system (NISS) the portal enables staff to quickly log, track and approve or decline new submissions, generating savings for suppliers and the LCBO, the board reports.
The system has almost eliminated paper-based submissions and manual administration. It has also reduced errors, minimized turnaround times, and cut phone calls and letters.
“The NISS system is a huge step forward both for the LCBO and for our suppliers in terms of streamlining the entire process...,” said Hugh Kelly, chief information officer with the LCBO.
The submission system was designed in collaboration with Toronto-based QLogitek, a developer of hosted supply chain solutions. b2b
