Sharp MFPs win award sweep
Mississauga, Ont.—Sharp Electronics of Canada announced a "clean sweep" of industry awards for its MX series of multifunctional printers (MFPs).
The series was given five stars by the BERTL award program, after analysts tested the MX-5500N, MX-6200N and MX-7000N. The company had already achieved five-star status for the 2300N, 2700N, 3501N and 4501N earlier in 2006.
The series was also recognized by Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI), which named the MFPs the 2006 Pick of the Year in the Most Outstanding Business Color MFP Line of 2006. Throughout 2006, BLI tested nearly every entry in the MX series, from the MX-2300N (with speeds of 23 pages-per-minute) to the MX-6200N, with a speed of 62 ppm in black, and 41 in colour.
The models excelled in the low rate of misfeeds, the number of consecutive impressions, low maintenance requirements, and the quality of output in both colour and black and white.
"The output of produced by the MX series models has a glossier finish than many other business colour models, which gives it a richer, more lustrous appearance," said BLI lab manager Pete Emory.
The MFPs were also noted as being easy to use, due to their well-designed control panel, print drivers and connectivity, according to BLI.
