Georgian College adds logistics programs
Barrie, Ont.—Georgian College has added a logistics program to its part-time studies curriculum. The "Certificate of Achievement in Logistics" will commence this fall, with mandatory courses including: logistics, project management, production and operations management and introduction to marketing.
In addition to the four mandatory courses, students will select two options, such as production control, managerial decision making, and facilities and location design, according to the college.
The logistics course was designed to introduce students to components such as customer service, demand forecasting, inventory control, warehousing and storage, traffic and transportation, plant and warehouse site selection, order processing and materials handling.
At press time, the college was also attempting to launch a logistics diploma program, pending ministry approval.
