Cott improves demand and supply planning
Toronto—Cott Corp., a retailer of brand beverages, has implemented a new demand planning system for its North American supply chain—a key initiative in the company's cost reduction and efficiency goals.
Cott selected Manugistics Inc. earlier this year, to supply an advanced, web-enabled demand and supply planning system. The demand planning portion went live at the end of June, ahead of schedule. The supply planning module should be completed by the end of the year.
"We expect this system to help improve our operating margins with reduced waste and better visibility and control over our entire supply chain," said Brent Willis, president and CEO of Cott.
The project should enhance decision-making on product demand, availability and shipment deliveries, according to JDA Software Group, which recently acquired Manugistics.
