Top exporters win awards
Cambridge, Ont.--Top exporters were honoured at the annual Ontario Global Traders Awards ceremony held in Cambridge, Ont. in April.
The gold level award winners included Sport Systems Unlimited Corp. (Waterloo) in the innovation category; and SlipStream Data Inc., also based in Waterloo, for market expansion in the product category.
The award for market expansion of a service went to Rowan Williams Davies & Irwin Inc. of Guelph, Ont.; while two additional companies got the nod for best partnership: Angstrom Engineering Inc. (Cambridge) and McBraun Inc. of Stratham, NH.
The awards recognize the most successful and innovative small and medium-sized exporters, business leaders and students throughout Ontario. Each year, the province exports more than $200 billion in goods and services, accounting for nearly 45 per cent of Ontario’s gross domestic product.
The awards are also held in central, eastern and northern Ontario. The top regional award winners will compete for provincial honours at the end of May.
The program is coordinated by the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
