WINNIPEG: Buhler Industries Inc.’s second-quarter profit increased 377% to $3.6 million from $1 million a year ago on cost control and increased activity in the company’s tractor section.
The Winnipeg-based farm equipment maker reported revenue fell to $50.6 million from $56.8 million in the quarter last year due to exchange rate issues, since more than 65% of the company’s sales are in US dollars.
Looking forward, it will focus on the North American market “in order to help satisfy the demand for equipment that has resulted from strong commodity pricing in the agricultural markets.”
Buhler manufactures tractors, wheel loaders, grain augers, snow blowers and mowers.
