Ruland Manufacturing Co., Inc. offers shaft collars in both stainless steel and plastic to prevent corrosion in wet or harsh environments. These shaft collars are ideal for wash-down applications such as those found in food processing and marine applications. With typical steel collars, even those with a zinc or nickel finish, water, salt and other chemicals can have a detrimental effect on performance. Ruland stainless steel shaft collars, with their passivated surface finish, resist water and many commercial grade chemicals, such as chlorine and some acids. Plastic collars from Ruland are made from acetal and offer similar surface protection to stainless steel. Both the stainless steel and plastic shaft collars are supplied with DIN 12.9 stainless steel screws that resist corrosion.
The collars are available in one- and two-piece clamp-style designs with bore sizes from 1/8" to 6" in the inch series and 3 mm to 80 mm in the metric series. Threaded bore collars are also offered with inch and metric threads. All Ruland shaft collars are single point faced to ensure perpendicularity and proper alignment. Ruland uses forged socket hardware in all its shaft collars, which allows for higher screw torque and increased holding power.

MPC (Mearthane Products Corporation) provides customizable electrostatic dissipation (ESD) properties for its Durethane rollers, drums, and belts.
Durethane parts are ideal for a wide range of product applications that generate tribocharge through roller or belt friction. Such equipment includes high-speed printers and copiers, postage meters, label-handling equipment, materials handling for the semiconductor industry and other media-transfer equipment.
Designers of equipment that generates tribocharge traditionally have eliminated costly metal grounding assemblies by selecting thermoplastic rollers, drums, and belts that include added conductive materials. These additives, usually carbon fibers or metal powder and fiber, can amount to as much as 20 to 50 percent by weight of the final material, degrading the physical characteristics of urethane parts. Also, because the additives are heavier than plastics, gravity can pull the additives to one end or the other of the part during manufacture, thereby distributing the conductive properties unevenly.

Artwalk floor coating system from Bayer MaterialScience is a custom floor coating based on two-component polyurethane systems formulated with raw materials from the Bayhydrol and Bayhydur or the Desmophen and Desmodur product line.
Working together with the designer, qualified applicators apply the artistic designs by seamlessly pouring the liquid casting resin in situ in the desired colors, patterns and motifs. In the last step, they seal the walkable work of art with a transparent polyurethane sealer. The monolithic floor contains no joints or seams.
Artwalk also defies the conventional wisdom that beauty is fleeting. Polyurethane casting resin coatings are extremely durable in high-load applications. Desmodur or Bayhydur aliphatic polyisocyanates ensure that the coatings do not fade or yellow. They are also resistant to abrasion, cleaning agents and other chemicals.

Carlo Gavazzi introduces the VariFlex Series, a compact line of AC drives that are ideal for most industrial motor control applications.
The VariFlex drives can handle most general purpose, three phase motor control applications from 1/3 to 5 Hp. The series also offers feature and options typically found on much more sophisticated drives.
The VariFlex drives are available in three frame sizes (A, B and C), covering mains voltages from 180 to 528VAC. They universally accept both single-phase and three-phase supply voltages. The overall dimensions have been carefully limited to minimize required space within the electrical enclosure, with widths measuring less than three inches (75mm).

Microchip Technology Inc. announces a family of 10 voltage supervisors: the MCP1316, MCP1316M, MCP1317, MCP1318, MCP1318M, MCP1319, MCP1319M, MCP1320, MCP1321 and MCP1322. These voltage supervisors offer a watchdog timer, manual reset, multiple combinations of push-pull or open-drain reset outputs and factory trip-points from 2.0V to 4.7V in 100 mV increments, all in a small, 5-pin SOT-23 package. The devices operate within the extended industrial temperature range of -40 degrees Celsius to +125 degrees Celsius and are ideal for automotive and industrial applications.
The MCP1316 - MCP1322 voltage supervisors monitor microprocessor activity in digital systems. They operate at input voltages as low as 1.0V up to 5.5V, consume very little power (5 µA typical) and offer a wide range of trip points between 2.0V and 4.7V.
All of these features in their small package enable the MCP13XX voltage supervisors to increase design efficiency and flexibility, as well as reduce overall system costs.

MTS Systems Corp. Sensors Division has enhanced its C-Series sensor to provide precise curvilinear measurements in relevant applications. Featuring new face and side sealing on the core plastic housing, the Flexible C-Series provides a greater versatility in installation options such as rotating shafts, balances, steering assemblies and other applications where less than 270 degrees of rotation needs to be monitored.
The C-Series' modular architecture is built upon a base Core sensor to which additional application-specific features can be added as dictated by the application. This allows customers to avoid costs that are unnecessary for their application, while also allowing them to integrate the sensor completely into their specific product packaging.
When more robust environmental protection is required by the application, the modular design of the C-Series sensor allows for the addition of standardized IP67 rated packaging that effectively houses the Core sensor. The IP67 housing also allows for a larger measurement range for liquid-level applications when using the standard stainless steel float.

PITTMAN brush-commutated DC gearmotors provide users with the widest range of power capabilities by achieving output torque up to 175 oz-in with standard sintered steel spur gearing and output torque up to 500 oz-in by incorporating select gear ratios and high-strength gears.
Offered in three series and varying lengths, PITTMAN brush DC gearmotors have been engineered to deliver increased output torque, smooth and quiet operation, and long service life. They are ideally suited for applications in a wide range of industries, including data storage, medical/biotech, semiconductor, automation, and many others.
Series GM8000 gearmotors are available with a range of 11 standard reduction ratios from 6.3:1 to 1803.6:1; Series GM9000 gearmotors offer 12 ratios from 5.9:1 to 4732.5:1 and Series GM14000 gearmotors feature four ratios from 5.9:1 to 218.4:1.
Armatures are skewed to minimize magnetic cogging, even at low speeds. Windings are resin-impregnated for greater reliability in incremental motion applications. Two-pole permanent magnet stators are constructed with ceramic magnets enclosed in heavy-gauge steel return rings. Diamond-turned commutators ensure maximum brush life.
