88-pin microcontroller expands I/O

January 28, 2008

Sauer-Danfoss

Sauer-Danfoss has announced the addition of a larger, general-purpose 88-pin microcontroller (the MC088-015-00000) to the PLUS+1TM product family. It includes 42 inputs, 32 outputs and two CAN 2.0B ports, and is ideal for mobile machinery designs requiring a large number of input/output (I/O) connections in a concentrated space.

The microcontroller was designed with three new features that augment system compatibility, power and control: four inputs that can be configured to read signals in the 4 to 20 mA range, such as from pressure and temperature sensors; six 6-amp digital outputs to directly control higher power devices, such as starter solenoids and incandescent lamps; 4 MB of on-board flash memory for logging everything from operational data to machine status.
