Bosch Rexroth has released the latest version of IndraWorks Machine Simulator, which extends the range of simulation tools for the IndraLogic and IndraMotion control systems.
With the new add-on, IndraWorks can not only perform all programming and start-up activities but also simulate the machine’s peripherals on PROFIBUS. The software simulates the machine’s behaviour and tests the correct operation of the workflow program, which can be optimized if required.
When a new machine is started up, the IndraWorks Machine Simulator adds virtual I/O peripherals of modules and integrates them in the machine’s workflow. Parallel development activities are thus possible because the construction of the electrical system no longer has to wait for completion of the mechanical and fluidic systems. All the areas involved can be developed simultaneously on the simulated module.
The IndraWorks Machine Simulator uses data from the IndraWorks software. The configuration of the PROFIBUS components is then available for simulation of the corresponding peripherals. The system configures the required I/O points only once and uses them either in the PLC program or links them in the simulation to external components such as switches or valves.
IndraWorks Machine Simulator can also be combined with other
Rexroth simulation tools including IndraWorks View3D for 3D machine
animation and the VAM Simulator for virtual machine or simulation
operation.
