The new version of Dassault Systèmes’ online collaboration solution 3DLive has been enhanced to take advantage of multi-CAD product information, facilitating better decision making throughout the product lifecycle.
3DLive was first launched in 2007, Dassault’s first step in integrating the company’s V5 products into an online environment. The product is a way for companies to leverage their 3-D and PLM information through easy-to-use search, navigation, user-to-user chat and collaboration capabilities that provide a real-time snapshot of product status across the enterprise. The company says that 3DLive strips away the belief that PLM is an engineer’s tool, putting all stakeholders on the same page.
Designed to support multi-CAD environments, 3DLive can display and navigate product information created in CATIA, SolidWorks, Pro/E Wildfire, Siemens/UGS NX and Autodesk Inventor.
“Many enterprises run more than one CAD system, meaning that core data is managed by multiple product data management tools that are not always accessible to the enterprise-wide decision making process,” said Stéphane Declee, vice-president of ENOVIA R&D, strategy and industry solutions with Dassault. “3DLive for multi-CAD creates that open landscape, where design, engineering, production, customer service, finance and marketing departments can freely share information and ideas to help speed innovation.”
