Nominations sought for 2008 engineer awards

If you know an engineer deserving recognition this year, the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) and the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE) are seeking nominations for the 2008 Ontario Professional Engineers Awards.

Nominees who excel in engineering are eligible for Engineering Medals, while those who have made significant contributions to society generally or their communities specifically can be nominated for Citizenship Awards.

Awards are presented in the following categories:

Engineering Medals

• Engineering Excellence
• Research and Development
• Management
• Entrepreneurship
• Young Engineer

Citizenship Awards

• For exceptional contributions to society in general
• For social betterment within an engineering context

Nominations should be submitted in confidence and without the nominee’s knowledge by the February 29, 2008 deadline. Self-nominations are not allowed.
