 SEI Chemical, Northridge, CA, has introduced a new water-based UV stable
clear sealer called SCS-002SP Sealer Prime. According to SEI, this heavy
duty, modified acrylate provides a far more effective seal than traditional
block fillers or standard latex primers. The product also incorporates
an active silanol group and nanoparticulate that provides chemical interaction
and bonding that ensures unparalleled topcoat adhesion. The low VOC,
non-flammable formulation can be applied with airless spray equipment
that can be cleaned with water. When applied, the sealer prime has a
milky white appearance to visually assist with the coverage, but quickly
dries to a clear and colorless finish.
