Air Products, Lehigh Valley, PA, has introduced two new products for
low-VOC formulations. EnviroGem 360 is a new surfactant for
architectural and industrial coatings that is designed to boost low–energy
substrate wetting, lower foam and reduce minimum film forming temperature—all
without contributing to VOC content. EnviroGem 360 also does
not contain alkylphenol ethoxylates(APE), which are persistent
in the environment and suspected of being endocrine disruptors. The surfactant
is also inherently biodegradable.
Ancarez AR555
is a new waterborne epoxy resin for coatings applications.
According to the company, Ancarez AR555 epoxy resin is the only zero-VOC
waterborne epoxy resin to offer both excellent coalescing and fast-dry
properties for floor coating, institutional coating, and OEM coating
applications. The product’s fast-dry performance
allows for improved sandability and stackability for increased throughput while
its enhanced coalescing enables uniform film formation. It also offers improved
stability for longer shelf life and anti-corrosive attributes that are ideal
for protective coatings.
