This hydrocarbon resin is designed for improved compatibility and performance with low-cost SBS block co-polymers. According to the company, when used in butadiene-based elastomers, the product offers extremely low odor and excellent compatibility with polar elastomers. Wingtack STS allows the use of SBS block co-polymers at higher levels in blends with other polymers. The technology of Wingtack STS also provides lower melt viscosities than typical SBS systems, says the company, which is ideal for the demanding, high-speed coating needed on today's tape and label equipment.
