Better efficiency with ultrafiltration unit for electrocoating
June 7, 2007 |
Koch Membrane Systems, Inc. has launched a 10-in. diameter
KPAK ultrafiltration module for the electrocoat industry. The
new design offers increased efficiencies that significantly
reduce required floor space, installation time, and operating
costs. The unit has a spiral-wound membrane element with
462 sq ft of membrane area, double that of previous models.
The 10-in. design gives a higher permeate output relative
to paint feed than other spiral membranes, claims the company.
It has virtually zero by-pass, which results in lower paint
feed flow requirements, providing additional savings in equipment
costs as the system uses smaller pumps, less piping and fewer
filters.
