Rohm and Haas has introduced Avanse ST-410, a 100 per cent acrylic waterborne polymer designed for use in semi-transparent deck and siding stains. According to the company, semi-transparent stains based on Avanse ST-410 do not require coalescent or heavy metal driers, are easy to apply and enhance the appearance of new and weathered wood with a long-lasting finish. The product also offers good flow and wetting, good lapping and rapid hardness development, even over high tannin woods.
