Thailand and Vietnam newest growth markets in Asia May 30, 2008|
Paint demand will grow by approximately 5.5 million tonnes by 2011 in 10 Asian countries, according to a new study of the paint market in Asia by Information Research (IRL), London, United Kingdom. The company has recently published the 300-page A Profile of the Asia-Pacific Paint Industry, 8th Edition. In addition to the now well-known potentials in China and India, the study reports that there is considerable growth to be expected in Thailand and Vietnam, followed by more modest growth in Malaysia and South Korea. Key factors driving increased demand in the region include construction sector activity and infrastructure investment, consumer goods production and consumption as well as shipbuilding growth.
