|

Cloverdale Paint Inc., Surrey, BC, has announced that the company has purchased Winnipeg, MB-based Guertin Coatings, Sealants and Polymers Ltd., effective February 29. Guertin is a family-run business that was founded in 1947 by Antoine and Norbert Guertin and has been operated by brothers Phil and Charlie Guertin since 1987. The company produces liquid and powder industrial coatings, resins, sealants and adhesives in a 78,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Winnipeg. Distribution is through its main 22,000 sq ft distribution facility in Winnipeg and other independent distributors throughout North America and internationally.

Cloverdale Paint directly, and through subsidiary companies in Calgary, Alberta (Far-go Paint Inc.) and Portland, OR (Rodda Paint Company), operates manufacturing plants in Surrey, Portland, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Calgary. Distribution of architectural and industrial coatings and related products is through 107 corporate branches throughout Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Cloverdale intends to operate Guertin as a separate entity with existing management and maintain Guertin's products, distribution, brands and Winnipeg manufacturing facility, said the company in a release.
