The Board of Trustees representing the Canadian Printing Industries Scholarship Trust Fund (CPISTF), has awarded a total of $60,000 in scholarship funding to 45 students for the current 2008-09 school year.
A total of $36,250 was awarded to 26 new students entering the first year of an approved course of study, and $23,750 was provided to 19 students already enrolled in the scholarship program.
The value of each scholarship is $1,250, although one student, Amanda Lewis of Elora, Ontario who will be attending Ryerson University's School of Graphic Communications Management, was awarded a Prestige Scholarship valued at $5,000.
“There was an exceptional group of applicants once again this year and we are very pleased to be able to support 45 dedicated students in their pursuit of a career in the printing industry,” said Don Gain, Chairman of the Fund, in a statement.
The CPISTF was initiated in 1971 for the benefit of the printing industries in Canada. The Trustees are comprised of a group of recognized leaders of the printing industries in Canada.
