German press manufacturer KBA unveiled its line-up
for drupa at a media/customer open house in Radebeul in early April.
The company is enhancing existing press platforms and presenting a new
consulting services offering to the industry.
The new flagship 41-inch press in the line-up is the Rapida 106, built
up from the Rapida 105 (introduced at drupa 2004), the new 106 offers
a larger sheet size, 29-1/2 x 41-3/4 inches, max. speed of 18,000 sph
and a raft of DriveTronic automation options, including the SPC simultaneous
plate change feature.
The 41-inch R 105 is now standard with a max. speed of 15,000 sph (upgradeable
to 16,500 sph).
All new is the Rapida 75 (20.4 x 29-1/2 inches, or available in a 23.8
x 29-1/2 inch format). This press replaces the R74 and Performa 74 series.
At drupa, KBA will also show four-over-four perfecting on a Rapida
142 (56-inch) press, and a Rapida 162 (64-inch) with UV.
KBA Complete is the name of the company’s new consultancy service, bringing
together partners including MIS developer Hiflex, workflow from Kodak along with
support from MBO, Muller Martini, IPM and ClimatePartner, to optimize print shop
functionality. |
