- K-North, Inc., the Canadian Dealer for Komori presses in Ontario and Western Canada, has appointed Versatech Press Electronic Services Ltd. as a preferred service provider in a move to enhance and expand its service capabilities.
- EFI has acquired Pace Systems Group, a print management software company, for over US$21 million.
- DuPont has announced it has settled a patent infringement case with Cortron Corp. involving DuPont’s Cyrel FAST thermal flexographic printing plate technology. Cortron agrees to cease manufacturing LAVA thermal flexographic printing plate processors distributed by MacDermid Printing Solutions and supporting LAVA equipment used to thermally develop flexographic printing plates. In response MacDermid has filed a counterclaim against DuPont, And MacDermid has issued a statement assuring its customers that it will continue to sell, support and service its entire thermal product line, including the processing equipment.
- Avanti Computer Systems, the Toronto-based developer of management information systems for printers, is moving to a larger location to accommodate the company's rapid growth. Effective August 20th Avanti will be located at 235 Yorkland Boulevard, Suite 1100, Toronto, Ontario, Canada M2J 4Y8.
- Mondrian-Hall, Inc., has moved two Richmond, BC based locations into a single larger facility. a newly constructed 12,000 sq. ft. facility. hosting a Customer Appreciation Event on October 1-2.
- NewPage Corp. is closing its Kimberly, Wisconsin, mill at the end of August. The mill operates two paper machines producing 500,000 tons of coated freesheet annually.
