GRAFIKOM Hires Marc Fortier
|

Grafikom, the Toronto-centred sheetfed printing network with plants in Alberta, Quebec and Mexico, has announced that Marc Fortier, a digital printing and direct mail veteran, has joined the operation as senior vice president, business strategy. Fortier's most recent position was executive vice president, digital services and business development with Toronto-based PLM Group (which was acquired by Transcontinental last summer).
The Fortier announcement coincides with Grafikom expanding its digital printing business. The company is in the process of consolidating its commercial offset and packaging operations into one plant (formerly Grafikom MIL) and developing a digital printing and fulfillment centre at another location (formerly Grafikom Grenville). The next phase in the digital strategy will include a roll out to Grafikom's Western and Eastern locations.
Fortier brings over 20 years of industry experience with operational and marketing expertise focused on production, database marketing and direct marketing. Prior to joining PLM, he was general manager of direct mail specialists Yorkville Printing, a division of Transcontinental.
Fortier will report directly to Grafikom president and CEO Gord Griffiths.  According to Griffiths, “Digital printing and fulfillment solutions represent a key growth area for Grafikom. During his career Marc has been integral in the establishment and integration of digital print and sophisticated variable digital print solutions. With his vast experience in this area, Marc will lead the strategic growth and development of our digital print services offering an integral part of our future direction.”
“For more than a decade I have worked to complement traditional print solutions with emerging digital technologies,” says Fortier.  “Grafikom possesses one of the most robust print platforms in Canada. As customers’ requirements continue to transcend traditional print, I am excited about the opportunity to lead the evolution of Grafikom’s current digital print service offering.”
