Quebecor World Closes Magog Plant
Troubled printing giant Quebecor World has shut down its Magog, Quebec facility (located an hour south east of Montreal), while also announcing new contracts, a multi-year deal with McGraw-Hill valued at $285 million extending into 2014 covering textbooks, catalogues and other professional learning products and new magazine printing contracts with four U.S.-based publishers, adding 33 titles..

  • Bobst Group has completed the acquisition of flexographic press and gravure press manufacturer Fischer & Krecke Group of Germany.
  • DuPont Packaging Graphics and Sun Chemical have joined forces bringing together Sun Chemical WetFlex wet-on-wet flexo printing process with its UniQure electron-beam cured inks and DuPont Cyrel FAST photopolymer plate technology, offering improved print quality and a solvent-free process.
  • Graphic Whizard of Burlington, Ontario will launch the VividCoater, an off-line flood UV coater for sheets from 5.5 x 8.5 inches to 21.5 x 26 inches, at drupa.
