    GM, Ford loss to hit US $1.6 B with slumping SUV, truck demand
    General Motors Corp. and Ford Motor Co. will lose a combined US $1.6 billion ($1.62 billion CDN) during the next 18 months due to plummeting sport utility vehicle and pickup truck values, according to auto industry analyst Himanshu Patel of JPMorgan. >> more

    Chinese machine tool exports on rapid rise
    The Chinese machine is on the fast-track to export growth since becoming a net exporter last June. The industry had a total output of 274.77 billion yuan ($40.65 billion in Canadian dollars) in 2007, up 35.5 per cent from 2006.>> more
