Designed to be an affordable solution for high performance applications, the Fagor 8070 ETX CNC control system is based on an industrial hardened Windows operating system running on an XP embedded platform, allowing the integration of online software configurations for a true Open Architecture system. The control is built with a solid state disk to ensure maximum reliability to work in harsh industrial environments. The operating system includes the FBWF (File Based Write Filter) feature that provides protected disk access to protect the 8070 CNC against viruses, hard shutdowns and undirected software installations.

Designed for use with Digital Servo Systems, high speed motors and linear, as well as rotary high accuracy feedback systems, machine servo performance is always optimized. The control offers true five axis machining compensation as a standard feature (RTCP compensation).

It increases productivity while maintaining part finish accuracy. It optimizes block processing time (lower than 0.5 ms) and analyzes the tool path in advance with high speed block look ahead, resulting in optimum part finish. Tool path transition gets smoother thanks to the predictive control feature, says Fagor. Mechanical stress is minimized by applying post-interpolation filters that eliminate the resonance frequencies common to high speed machines.

CAD/CAM generated programs are large and require a specific CNC system treatment to obtain the maximum speed with the desired precision.
